Versatile snack

Ingredients
150 g pitted dates (preferably Medjool dates or other soft varieties)
80 g oat flakes
80 g nuts of your choice (e.g. almonds, walnuts or cashews - mixed works great too)
1–2 tbsp nut butter (e.g. almond butter, cashew butter or peanut butter, optional for extra creaminess)
1 tbsp cocoa powder (unsweetened, optional for chocolate flavor)
1 pinch of salt
1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
2–3 tablespoons of water if the mixture is too dry
Optional topping: coconut flakes, cocoa powder, sesame
(As you can see, these energy balls are very flexible and versatile. Tip : You can also add small chocolate chips, dried cranberries, or chia seeds to the balls if you want a little variety.)
Preparation
Put all ingredients (dates, oat flakes, nuts, nut butter, cocoa, cinnamon, pinch of salt) into a food processor and chop well until a sticky mass is formed.
If the mixture is too crumbly, add a tablespoon of water or some nut butter.
Form small balls with your hands.
Roll in coconut flakes, cocoa powder or sesame seeds as desired.
Let it set in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
The energy balls will last for about 1 week in the refrigerator, but they can also be frozen.
